An Environmental Love Song

"Giving a voice to the forest, giving a voice to the dawn,
Giving a voice to the wilderness, and the land that we live on."

How it started
While pre-visualizing the image prior to placing the camera and tripod into position, I often “hear” the visualized image “singing” to me as if part of a song I’ve heard before.  Sometimes the tune just flows, and so naturally does the image.  Other times, the image is singing out, but I don’t recognize the song.  I may struggle for many minutes finding the right angle, the right composition, the right placement, and in fact may walk away, only to return a minute or two later to start over.  Eventually I capture the image that has presented itself, and only later does the song really come forth.

Such was the case with an image of the forest alongside a mountain stream in Rocky Mountain National Park.  I looked it over from many different angles, walked away, came back, tried different lenses, and finally captured the image I wanted, though really wasn’t sure why.  On the way home, while listening to the song “You’re the One” from Brad and Kathy Fitch, the phrase “where forest meets oceans and rocks take their cue” struck me.  That forest image immediately came to mind.  And with that, so did the development of this video.
An Environmental Love Song video
This photography music video contains 73 of my nature images timed to the music of “You’re the One”, from Brad and Kathy Fitch. Each image was carefully selected to match the words not so much from a lover’s perspective, but from a love song’s perspective to Mother Earth.  You will see wildflowers, lakes, rivers, mountains, sun, the moon, butterflies, elk, big horn sheep, magpies and white tail deer, all while listening to a wonderful song.  You will find the transitions enjoyable, captivating, and inspiring.  The one minute video clip provides an illustration of what is further available to you.
The Musicians
Brad and Kathy Fitch reside in Estes Park, Colorado, performing nightly throughout the Rocky Mountain region. You’ll often find them hosting ‘campfire sing-alongs’ each week in Bond Park, downtown Estes Park.  They also perform their annual (and excellent) John Denver tribute with their TropiCowboy band.  Professional singers, songwriters, and performers in their own right, Kathy and Brad have recorded six CDs of their own wonderful original music as well as a John Denver tribute CD.  Their music and performance schedule are available on the TropiCowboy web site.
