Throughout this wonderful world, nature shares it
beauty and splendor in many unique ways. From distant exotic lands to
backyard habitats, there is an abundance of opportunity to enjoy this
environment we all share. Like many before me, my goal with each image is
to help "give a voice" to the land and its inhabitants, (quoting a John
Denver lyric) in my own small way.
For years, I've captured the surrounding environment with 35mm slide and
print media. While driving many miles during a sales career, I would often
visualize photographic opportunities as I drove throughout Wisconsin.
Unfortunately, due to schedules, I was unable to take the time to convert
the visualized image to film. With a conservation degree in the 70's, my
interest in the natural environment never waned while working for a major
communications company. On Friday, October 13, 2006, I took an early
retirement from Motorola to pursue this photographic passion full time.
I consider myself a landscape nature photographer, capturing images primarily
of lakes and rivers, landscapes and scenics, trees and wildflowers.
Birds and mammals are photographed primarily in context with their
surroundings. Ancillary additional images round out my portfolio.
I use exclusively professional quality Canon equipment (1Ds Mark III;
16-35mm f/2.8 L; 24-70mm f/2.8 L; 70-200mm f/2.8 L IS; 180mm f/3.5 L macro;
500mm f/4 L IS), capturing in Canon RAW and processing all images in Adobe
Lightroom. Much of my work is Wisconsin flavored, with western
national parks and Florida area sprinkled in. A summary stock
list is provided below.
Have a special request? I am available for assignments as well as
on-spec shoots. My images have been used in corporate brochures, "How To"
books, billboard advertising, national educational classroom publications,
regional travel magazines, environmental magazines, visitor guides and
management and attraction books. My images are available for licensed usage, lustre and gallery wrap prints. (Contact
me for information regarding licensing).
The DVD, "An Environmental Love
Song", includes 73 of my nature images timed carefully to the music
of Brad and Kathy Fitch of Estes Park, Colorado. Don't forget to check out
the "Useful Links" page. The
photography reading and reference list may

Thank you for your interest in my photography.
Have fun, and enjoy this great weather.
